Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
- Monitor and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and prevent production delays.
- Collaborate with planning and production to optimize inventory levels and support material availability.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers.
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and supply chain efficiencies.
- 3 years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for procurement and inventory management.
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Solid understanding of supply chain principles, including logistics and inventory optimization.
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
- Experience with advanced ERP modules for procurement/supply chain (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle SCM Cloud).
- Demonstrated success in leading cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing or value engineering.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and their application to supply chain optimization.
