Key Responsibilities
- Source and select new suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements.
- Create and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with production and planning to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts.
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality or supply.
- Resolve supply chain issues such as delays, non-conforming materials, or invoice discrepancies.
- Minimum 3-5 years of direct purchasing or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) for purchasing, inventory, and order management.
- Demonstrated strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills, including contract management.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and Bills of Material (BOMs) for manufacturing components.
- Proven track record in cost reduction initiatives, market analysis, and inventory optimization.
- Technical understanding of manufacturing processes or materials.
- Professional certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, or CPSM.
- Experience with international sourcing or managing global supply chains.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
