Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers for raw materials, components, and services.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to achieve cost savings and optimize lead times.
- Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of materials to support production.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory.
- Resolve discrepancies with suppliers regarding quality, quantity, and delivery issues.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure material specifications and requirements are met.
- Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or reliability.
- 3-5 years of direct purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex) for procurement functions.
- Strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and contract management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with major ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies
- Technical aptitude or background in manufacturing processes or materials
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM)
