Responsibilities
- Support attorneys in all phases of state and federal litigation, from case inception through trial and appeal.
- Manage litigation matters through all stages, including pre-trial, trial, post-trial, and appellate proceedings.
- Assist with public agency matters, including CEQA administrative records, eminent domain actions, code enforcement actions, and Public Records Act requests.
- Draft, prepare, proofread, and cite-check pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
- Calculate, track, and manage deadlines in accordance with California and Federal procedural rules, appellate rules, and local court requirements.
- Maintain case calendars and ensure compliance with court-imposed deadlines and scheduling orders.
- Coordinate written discovery, document productions, depositions, and witness preparation.
- Prepare deposition notices and subpoenas, including out-of-state subpoenas.
- Prepare trial materials, including trial binders, exhibit lists, witness lists, jury instructions, and other pretrial documents.
- Coordinate filing and service of court documents in state and federal courts.
- Manage trial logistics, including courtroom technology, exhibit tracking, and trial presentation systems.
- Provide in-court trial support, including exhibit management, witness coordination, and document retrieval.
- Assist with post-trial motions and related filings.
- Prepare and file notices of appeal and cross-appeal.
- Track appellate deadlines and briefing schedules for California and federal appellate courts.
- Coordinate preparation and assembly of appellate appendices and records.
- Manage electronic filing of appellate briefs, motions, and related documents.
- Utilize litigation support and e-discovery platforms, including Relativity, CS Disco, or similar systems.
- Conduct document review and manage large-scale document productions.
- Support attorneys using trial presentation software such as TrialDirector, OnCue, or similar applications.
- Conduct procedural research and assist with litigation and appellate compliance requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of complex litigation paralegal experience, including trial support.
- Experience supporting litigation in California state and federal courts.
- Experience with public agency matters, including CEQA administrative records, eminent domain, code enforcement, Public Records Act requests, or similar government law matters preferred.
- Appellate litigation experience strongly preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of California Code of Civil Procedure, California Rules of Court, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure, and applicable local court rules.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with document management systems, litigation support platforms, and e-discovery tools.
- Familiarity with Relativity, CS Disco, TrialDirector, OnCue, or comparable litigation technology platforms preferred.
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, including formatting, citation accuracy, procedural compliance, and deadline management.
- Ability to independently manage multiple matters and competing deadlines.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new litigation technologies.
- Professional judgment, discretion, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Salary : $105,000 - $120,000
