Accounting Clerk

• Location: Trenton, MI
• Pay: $20–$25 per hour (based on experience)
• Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
• Work Arrangement: On-site training for approximately 2 months, then hybrid (2 days on-site / 3 days remote)

The Phillip Charles Group has been servicing the local Metro Detroit area for 40 years and has built strong partnerships with our clients, candidates, and employees. We are currently seeking two Accounting Clerks for a great opportunity with an established company in Trenton, MI.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting core accounting operations. Prior accounting experience is required for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process customer invoices and accounting transactions using Microsoft Dynamics GP and other internal systems.
• Manage Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) processes to ensure accurate ledger entries.
• Review invoices, billing data, and financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain accurate customer accounts, vendor files, and general ledger records.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies by communicating with internal departments and vendors.
• Work closely with the accounting team to support month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
• Follow standard accounting principles and company-specific financial procedures.
• Manage daily responsibilities while meeting tight deadlines and adapting to seasonal workload fluctuations.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in an Accounting Clerk, Bookkeeping, or similar accounting support role required.
• Solid background in Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), or general ledger accounting required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization skills.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to follow detailed financial procedures and work effectively as part of an accounting team.
• Dependable, adaptable, and interested in a long-term opportunity.
