Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will play a key role in leading the day-to-day accounting operations and supporting the integration of new acquisitions into the company's financial systems and processes. This individual will oversee a small accounting team and work closely with senior leadership to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of all financial reporting activities.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to operate effectively in a growing organization where processes are still evolving. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing daily accounting responsibilities with project-based work related to acquisition integration and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, G/L, payroll, and month-end close.
- Manage and mentor accounting team members to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and professional growth.
- Support the integration of new acquisitions, including onboarding financial systems, standardizing reporting, and ensuring consistency with corporate policies.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing financial insights to leadership.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals to maintain GAAP compliance.
- Collaborate with external auditors and provide documentation for audit preparation and review.
- Partner with operations and project management teams to enhance job costing accuracy and budget monitoring.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and internal control enhancements across accounting functions.
- Support cash flow management and help ensure proper allocation of resources across multiple entities and projects.
- Contribute to special projects and reporting initiatives as the company continues to scale.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Experience in construction, contracting, or project-based accounting environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and audit processes.
- Demonstrated experience with acquisition or multi-entity integration a plus.
- Proficiency with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Vista, Deltek, Sage, or similar).
- Strong Excel and reporting skills; comfortable with financial dashboards and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Salary : $115,000 - $125,000
