What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-House Legal Counsel position at The Mom Project?

Core Responsibilities
Contract Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including transportation agreements, vendor contracts, and other legal documents to protect the company's interests.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with transportation industry regulations and ensure our operations comply with federal, state, and local laws.
Risk Assessment: Identify legal risks associated with our business operations and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
Dispute Resolution: Handle legal disputes and litigation matters, working with external counsel when necessary, to protect the company's interests and resolve issues efficiently.
Corporate Governance: Provide legal guidance on corporate governance matters, including advising on board meetings, shareholder agreements, and corporate policies.
Intellectual Property: Assist in protecting the company's intellectual property rights, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
Compliance Training: Develop and conduct training programs for employees to ensure awareness and compliance with relevant legal requirements.
General Legal Support: Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of legal issues as they arise in the course of business operations.
Qualifications/Skills
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active membership in the state bar association.
Minimum of 7 years of experience practicing law, preferably with a focus on transportation or logistics.
Strong understanding of transportation industry regulations.
Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
