What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping | Public Area Attendant position at The Madison Concourse Hotel?
As the Public Area Attendant, you'll help create a welcoming environment by keeping our lobby, corridors, elevators, and other public spaces clean and inviting during morning hours. This full-time position typically works 6am–2pm, with the flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays. Days off may vary week to week based on business demand. The starting rate for this position is $15.75 per hour, with $1/hr premium pay on weekends.
Some of the tasks you'll be doing:
- Using a radio to communicate with Housekeeping Management and other departments
- Provide great customer service to our guests by giving directions, making recommendations, or answering other questions they may have
- Respond promptly to guest requests and inquiries, providing excellent customer service
- Ensuring cleanliness of lobby restrooms by mopping, dusting, refilling paper needs, and replenishing soaps
- Collecting and properly disposing of hotel garbage and recycling
- Delivering towels, toiletries, or other items to guest rooms as needed
- Vacuuming and maintaining public areas, ensuring area furniture is clean and arranged neatly
- Adhere to all safety and security procedures, ensuring the well-being of guests and colleagues
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role is preferred, but we are open to training enthusiastic individuals who are eager to learn
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain cleanliness standards consistently
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficiently during night shifts
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects when required
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests and fellow team members
- Flexibility to work morning shifts, including weekends and holidays
- A positive attitude, reliability, and genuine passion for providing outstanding customer service
