What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Cook position at The Madison Concourse Hotel?
As a Full-Time Banquet Cook, you’ll play a vital role in preparing meals for everything from weddings and conferences to corporate luncheons and social events. You’ll work with a wide variety of menu items and preparation techniques—soups, salads, proteins, vegetables, and beautifully arranged cold trays—and be expected to maintain consistent quality, taste, and appearance for every plate that leaves the kitchen.
What You'll Be Doing:

Prepare high-volume banquet meals while maintaining exceptional culinary standards

Cook a variety of menu items, including hot and cold dishes: soups, salads, proteins, vegetables, sauces, and garnishes

Assemble visually appealing cold display trays for events and buffets

Follow banquet event orders (BEOs) and chef instructions to ensure food is prepared accurately and on time

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper food safety and sanitation practices in all prep and cooking areas

Collaborate with fellow team members to meet event deadlines and execute smooth service

Adapt to changing schedules and priorities depending on business levels and event demands
What We’re Looking For:

Experience in high-volume food preparation, preferably in a banquet or catering environment

Solid knowledge of food safety, prep techniques, and proper kitchen equipment use

Strong attention to detail and consistency in flavor, presentation, and portioning

Ability to stay focused and efficient in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Flexibility with scheduling—shifts generally start around 9:00am, but may vary based on event needs (days, nights, weekends, holidays)

Positive attitude, professionalism, and reliability
