Title: Database Admin
Location: hybrid schedule 4 days in office near Gainesville GA
Contract role
Daily Responsibilities
- Document database configurations, processes, and performance metrics for operational excellence
- Ensure database security, compliance, backup, and disaster recovery procedures are followed
- Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide timely resolutions
- Proactively monitor and manage Azure cost optimization for database and data services
- Manage and monitor Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines for ETL/ELT workflows and data integration across systems
- Collaborate with application developers, BI/reporting, and infrastructure engineers and design scalable and cost-effective solutions
- Perform query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning to ensure efficient database operations
- Monitor database health and system performance using tools such as SQL, Datadog, Profiler, and native Azure monitoring solutions
- Administer, maintain, and optimize Azure, SQL, and Snowflake environments to ensure high availability, reliability, and security
Requirements
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and tools for data integrity and compliance
- Knowledge/Experience working with Snowflake, ATS, and ETL Pipelines
- Strong knowledge of database security
- Proficiency in cloud computing platforms and data pipelines
- Hands-on experience with SQL, T-SQL, and advanced database queries for performance tuning and data analysis
- Expert level proficiency in SQL Server Database Management, Performance tuning, and Administration
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of DevOps practices for database management and automation
- Certifications in Snowflake or SQL Server
- Experience with data warehousing, business intelligence tools, and data lake architectures
- Hands on Experience with Snowflake data architecture, data modeling, ETL, and data warehouse optimization
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $48.00 - $54.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
