Role SummaryWe are seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to provide maternity leave coverage for a key member of the accounting team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the organization’s accounts payable function.
In this position, you will support daily AP operations, ensure accurate invoice processing, and collaborate with accounting team members to maintain compliance and timeliness. You will also work with large data sets, contribute to month-end activities, and help drive smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities- Process and verify vendor invoices with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
- Support accounts payable transactions, including payment processing and reconciliation
- Maintain organized and accurate AP records and supporting documentation
- Analyze and manipulate large datasets using Excel to support reporting and validation
- Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations and accrual support
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with accounting team members to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
- Quickly learn and navigate accounting systems with minimal supervision
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 1–3 years of experience in accounting or accounts payable
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and data reconciliation
- Experience working with ERP or accounting systems in a high-volume environment preferred
- Solid understanding of accounts payable processes and controls
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
