JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Manager oversees all aspects of assigned structural & miscellaneous steel construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual, safety, and quality requirements. The role involves coordination with internal teams, subcontractors, customers, and external partners.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform job duties with limited supervision following established procedures and deadlines.
- Ensure that all contractual terms and obligations of such projects are maintained.
- Ensure projects meet cost and schedule requirements.
- Assures proper accounting for project change orders.
- Communicate regularly with customers, vendors, architects, engineers, and internal teams to resolve issues and prevent delays.
- Some projects may require weekly or daily meetings to ensure delays are prevented.
- Visits job site as needed and required. This may consist of out-of-state travel.
- Track progress, prepare reports, and keep management informed of project status.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- Ensure all aspects of projects are properly and thoroughly documented to ensure Ideal's interests are protected.
- Run projects ranging from a dollar value of $5,000 up to $3M
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 5-10 years of related experience as a Project/Construction Manager in the structural steel industry or 5 years of related experience in the industry.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- HS diploma or equivalent. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in construction management, structural/civil engineering, or business may substitute for 3 years of the required experience. Experience as a fabricator or erector may substitute for detailing/drafting exp.
- Knowledge of personal computers and phones. Computer Software includes: MS Windows, MS Office Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook, TEKLA Power Fab, VISTA, and SDS2.
- Position requires as many hours as needed to fulfill daily and weekly obligations and carry out the functions. Working long days, including evenings and weekends, can be required for this position. Position requires air/road travel as needed and required. A current and valid driver's license is required. This position is generally indoors in a climate-controlled office. However, frequent visits to the outdoor plant facilities can be required.
