Now hiring Production Coordinator for facility in Lake Zurich - temp to hire 6am - 2pm. Paid weekly - $24 - $36 p/h.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Production Coordinator position is a hands-on role responsible for performing manufacturing activities while supporting the daily coordination of production operations. This position helps ensure products are manufactured in accordance with established quality standards, production schedules, and safety requirements. The position will work closely with Production Supervisors, Manufacturing Engineers, and Quality personnel. The Production Coordinator assists with line setup, production documentation, material coordinator, and workflow support to maintain efficient operations.
In addition to direct production work, the Production Coordinator serves as a knowledgeable resource on the manufacturing floor by helping train team members, reinforcing standard operating procedures, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role plays an important part in maintaining productivity, compliance with quality systems, and a safe, collaborative work environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Perform hands-on manufacturing activities in support of production schedules and operational needs.
o Assist with production line setup, equipment preparation, and changeovers in coordination with the
Production Supervisor.
o Support daily production activities to help ensure quality and delivery objectives are achieved.
o Perform line clearance activities and verify required documentation is completed accurately.
o Review and submit Lot History Records associated with products built for production. gather and distribute materials, tools, and labels to maintain efficient workflow in assigned production areas.
o Provide day-to-day support and guidance to manufacturing team members on production processes
and procedures.
o Assist with onboarding and training new personnel according to training matrix and established
procedures.
o Help communicate daily production priorities and assignments as directed by Production Specialist or
Production Supervisor.
o Provide feedback to leadership regarding training needs, workflow challenges, or improvement
opportunities.
o Assist with tracking and verifying personnel time entries as requested.
o Follow all Quality System requirements and applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
o Work with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to support compliance with internal
procedures and production standards.
o Assist with investigation activities related to Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Corrective Action
Reports (CARs).
o Maintain strict adherence to safety requirements and promote safe work practices within the production
area.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven ability to support production operations in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to follow and reinforce standard operating procedures and quality system requirements
Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
Ability to work collaboratively with team members and cross-functional departments.
EXPERIENCE and REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Experience serving as a team leader, trainer, or subject matter resource on the production floor is preferred.
- Experience working in a regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and support production schedules in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when completing production documentation.
- Familiarity with quality systems, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and manufacturing documentation practices.
- Understanding manufacturing processes and production workflows.
- Basic understanding of operational metrics related to productivity, quality, safety, attendance, and scrap.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Ability to perform hands-on manufacturing activities while supporting team workflow.
- Ability to assist with training team members and reinforcing adherence to procedures.
- Ability to identify and communicate production or quality issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to support operational goals.
- Basic computer proficiency including experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
