Machinist / CNC Machine OperatorLocation: Crystal Lake, ILWe are seeking a skilled Machinist / CNC Machine Operator to join our Crystal Lake facility. This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce precision-machined parts that meet customer specifications.Temp to Hire opportunity--benefits offered once hired. $24 to $30/hr to start DOE.Essential DutiesRead and interpret blueprints to set up and run CNC machines according to product specifications.Create CAM programs.Perform complete machine setups, including establishing zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, and compensations. Use basic math, geometry, and trigonometry to calculate requirements.Use edge finders, touch tools, touch parts, and replace inserts when necessary.Inspect parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, and pin gauges to verify quality and accuracy.Maintain safe operations by following all company and regulatory safety procedures.Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs when needed.Set up and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, drill presses, surface grinders, and hand-operated power tools.Occasionally fabricate and assemble equipment using a variety of pneumatic and electrical tools.Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the operation.Other ResponsibilitiesFollow all company safety policies, programs, and procedures, ensuring personal and team safetyMaintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with company housekeeping standards.Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and established work rules.Minimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED.Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and drawings.Strong mechanical aptitude with analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-up abilities.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Professional attitude and presentation.Preferred QualificationsCertificate or 2-year technical degree in Machine Technology, Precision Machining, or CNC Operations.Proficiency with CAD/CAM software, especially Fusion 360.Working ConditionsStandard work hours (8:30am to 5pm Monday through Friday) with occasional voluntary and mandatory overtime as needed.Work performed in an office and manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, solvents, liquids, and other materials.Temperature variations, including hot and cold conditions, may occur.Physical RequirementsAbility to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Must be able to stand, bend, twist, grip, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs.The Huntington Resource is an Equal Opportunity Employer – All qualified applicants will be considered for employment regardless of the individual’s race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), marital status, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristics protected by state or federal law.Company DescriptionA leader in their industry since 1975, we have been a fundamental ingredient in the successful hiring of employees for companies of all sizes in the Chicagoland area.
