Job Title: Sr. Accountant

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to join their dynamic Asset Management team. Compensation:
$50.00 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes for corporate and project entities, including authorizing journal entries, maintaining reconciliations, and preparing comprehensive financial statements.
- Supervise a team of staff and senior accountants, guiding hiring processes, onboarding, cross-training, daily operations, and performance assessments.
- Contribute to the development of annual budgets and track budget-to-actuals across all projects regularly.
- Spearhead ERP enhancement initiatives by collaborating with third-party consultants and internal teams to streamline and improve processes.
- Develop and implement procedures for new business operations, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Collaborate with the Asset Management department by overseeing invoice creation, deposits, collections, and reporting key performance indicators to management.
- Coordinate with auditors during project and consolidated audits by preparing PBC lists, providing explanations, and supporting documentation for audit procedures.
- Generate various ad hoc reports to meet management requests and support decision-making processes.
Requirements:
- 3-4 years of experience in Public Accounting or 5-6 years in private sector accounting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles with the ability to conduct research on complex issues.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with accounting teams, executive management, and cross-departmental stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software; expertise in NetSuite is highly desirable.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Critical thinking skills, proactive problem-solving, and initiative in process improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and overall computer literacy.
- A genuine passion for addressing climate change and supporting sustainability initiatives.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally, fostering trust and loyalty.
- Eagerness to understand operational workflows and leverage that knowledge to guide strategic decisions.
- Educational background in accounting or a related field.
