Position:
Operator
Department: Telephone
Primary Responsibilities: (guest interaction, ordering
responsibilities, clean up duties, clerical responsibilities,
etc.)
• Answering In-Coming and In-House calls
• Taking and handling
emergency and doctor calls
• Taking and directing maintenance
calls
• Placing restrictions on and off of phones, such as Do Not
Disturb
• Taking and giving wake-up calls.
• Taking Text Messages and
typing in computer.

Secondary
Responsibilities:
• Able to learn all extension numbers and (1800)
employees (where they work)
Normal Working Hours: (Shift, days)
• All shifts
– Days can vary during busy season.

Past Work Experience Requirements: (Type of work, number

• Experience handling
multiple phone lines helpful
Educational Requirements: (Degree/Certification, highest
required/preferred, field of study)
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
preferred
Communication Skills Requirements: (Verbal: phone,
in-person, group; Written: memos, documents)
• Excellent communication
skills with focus on proper grammar, listening comprehension and clear diction
• Customer service skills
• Good Telephone Etiquette
Technical Requirements:
• Some typing and computer
skills.
• Ability to learn and utilize AS400 for information retrieval and
data entry
Required Supervision: (Reports to,
Supervision provided, number of people to supervise)
• Report to
Manager, Technical Communication
• Must be able to work independently
