Description:
- Answer and direct incoming calls to proper departments
- Monitor code blue, fire, and gas alarm panels
- Alert staff of emergency codes via paging systems and overhead announcements
- Page on call physicians and medical staff when needed
- Document and log all codes and call activity daily
The switchboard is manned 16 hours per day, 365 days per year.
Holidays and other shifts are rotated to accommodate staffing needs.
