Position: Massage
Therapist
Department: Spa
Primary Responsibilities: (guest
interaction, ordering responsibilities, clean up duties, clerical
responsibilities, etc.)
•Performs various types of localized and full body
massages to guests
•Administers various hydrotherapy treatments and
exfoliating services
•Ensures The Greenbrier experience
•Adheres to
policies of the facility
•Reports any incidents or accidents to the Spa
Director
•Understands and uses universal precautions when providing
services
•Assesses contraindications of guest that may prevent service from
taking place
•Maintains the highest level of product knowledge and has
complete knowledge of all spa services presently offered
•Recommends products
for home use with a minimum service to sales ration of 25%
•Performs all
treatments on services’ menu based on current certifications
•Suggests to
guests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa
•Understands the
ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to the guests. Answers
guests’ questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner
•Begins and ends
all treatments on time
•Works assigned schedule
•Ensures that work areas
are clean and set according to procedures
•Informs Spa Director of products
needs
•Creates and maintains client cards with treatment notes, when
appropriate
•Completes all assigned side work
•Attends scheduled
professional trainings
•Cleans and disinfects all equipment on a daily
basis
Secondary
Responsibilities:
•Attends Spa/departmental meetings as
scheduled
•Completes other duties assigned by the Spa Director
•Assists
staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to
help maintain facility and prepare for special events
Normal Working Hours: (Shift,
days)
•32-40 hours per week in season
•Staffing by seniority, requires
availability on holidays and 7 day a week operation
•2 scheduled days off for
full-time, days vary for part time
Past Work Experience Requirements:
(Type of work, number of years required, equivalent experience,
etc.)
•Previous massage experience preferred with exposure to hydrotherapy
and exfoliation services
•Ability to explain various treatments/services to
guests as well as the benefits of each
•Previous esthetician experience
preferred
•Ability to lift 25 lbs
Educational Requirements:
(Degree/Certification, highest required/preferred, field of study)
•High
School Diploma or G.E.D.
•Licensed in the state of WV
Communication Skills Requirements:
(Verbal: phone, in-person, group; Written: memos, documents)
•Must be able to
express information clearly and communicate in a personable and professional
manner
•Customer service experience, preferably in a spa
•Excellent
customer service skills and work ethic
•Excellent verbal and written
skills
•Personable, pleasant and friendly attitude
•Willing and able to
create a 5 star guest experience
Technical Requirements:
•CPR and
Red Cross
•Use of proper body mechanics when performing services
Required Supervision: (Reports to,
Supervision provided, number of people to supervise)
•Reports to Spa Director
and Assistant Spa Director
•Willingness to follow suggestions of more senior
co-workers
•Self motivated and able to assume responsibility to complete
assignments
