Key Responsibilities
- Financial Integrity: Perform monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations; prepare and post journal entries in accordance with accounting standards.
- Analysis & Reporting: Analyze expense trends and variances by comparing current results to historical benchmarks to guide firm decision-making.
- Compliance & Audit: Support quarterly/annual tax filings and prepare supporting schedules for firm-wide and retirement plan audits.
- Operational Excellence: Lead month-end and year-end close activities; draft and maintain internal accounting policies to ensure robust internal controls.
- Collaborative Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for branch office accounting needs and participate in ad hoc initiatives such as real estate reporting and regulatory filings.
Qualifications & Skills
- Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Experience with legal-specific financial systems—specifically Elite 3E, Sage Fixed Assets, or Essbase—is a must.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to solve problems, organize complex data sets, and maintain high levels of professionalism.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating across internal departments.
- Adaptability: A team-first mindset with the ability to pivot between routine reporting and special projects.
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive general accounting experience.
- Industry Background: Prior experience within a law firm or public accounting environment is highly preferred.
- Certification: CPA designation is a plus.
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
