Fiduciary Accountant
New York, NY - Onsite
Salary: $150-$200k
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and filing of Federal and state estate tax and gift tax returns
- Preparation and filing of Federal and state fiduciary income tax returns
- Preparation of estate and trust accountings for judicial settlement in Surrogate’s Court
- Preparation of informational returns for tax-exempt entities
- Estate and gift tax planning, including actuarial and interest computations (QPRTs, GRATs, CRATs, CLUTs)
- Maintenance and updating of estate and trust tax accounts and related records
- Direct collaboration with attorneys within the Estates and Personal Planning practice
- Management of IRS and NYS audit inquiries and related correspondence
All responsibilities are carried out in alignment with firm-wide information governance standards, including safeguarding confidential client and firm data, adhering to information security policies, and reporting potential security risks appropriately.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with OMEGA accounting software and Wolters Kluwer ProSystems tax software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Self-directed work style with the ability to build collaborative partnerships in a team setting
Education & Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in an estate and trust environment (law firm experience strongly preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Tax
Salary : $150,000 - $200,000
