Position Overview

The Fordy Group has partnered with a leading General Contractor to identify an experienced and strategic Construction Project Executive to lead and oversee its Commercial Division in the Portland, Oregon market. This executive-level role is responsible for driving operational excellence, client satisfaction, project performance, and team leadership across a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects.


The ideal candidate is a proven construction leader with deep experience managing large-scale commercial projects, building high-performing teams, and developing strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry partners. This individual will report directly to the Vice President and play a key role in the continued growth and success of the organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive oversight for all commercial construction operations, including project execution, financial performance, scheduling, staffing, and client relations
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Superintendents, and operational teams across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Collaborate closely with the Vice President to execute strategic growth initiatives and operational goals
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Drive accountability and consistency in project management processes, reporting, forecasting, and risk management
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and community stakeholders
  • Participate in business development efforts, including client presentations, pursuit strategies, and contract negotiations
  • Review and oversee project budgets, cost controls, change orders, and profitability metrics
  • Support preconstruction and estimating teams during planning and procurement phases
  • Champion a culture of safety, collaboration, integrity, and operational excellence


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
  • 10 years of progressive commercial construction leadership experience, including oversight of multiple large-scale projects and teams
  • Prior experience in a Project Executive, Senior Project Manager, Operations Manager, or similar leadership role with a General Contractor
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction delivery methods, contracts, budgeting, scheduling, and risk mitigation
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage client relationships, and drive operational performance
  • Experience overseeing projects in sectors such as healthcare, higher education, mixed-use, multifamily, industrial, or corporate commercial preferred
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with construction management software and project controls systems

About the Opportunity

Salary : $180,000 - $230,000
