About the Role
The Fordy Group have partnered with a leading GC who are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our growing team in Portland, Oregon. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator who wants to work on diverse commercial projects, including both ground-up construction and tenant improvements, while benefiting from a clear path for rapid career advancement.
You’ll play a key role in shaping project success from the earliest stages, working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and leadership to develop accurate, competitive estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial ground-up and TI projects
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Develop quantity takeoffs and pricing strategies
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
- Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions
- Collaborate with project teams during preconstruction and handoff phases
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in commercial construction estimating (ground-up and/or tenant improvement projects)
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Proficiency with estimating software and digital takeoff tools
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive mindset with a desire to grow into senior leadership
