Job Overview:
Seeking a self-motivated detailer with experience in plumbing and mechanical piping modeling. This role involves reading and interpreting construction drawings to create accurate shop, coordination, and fabrication spool drawings using 3D modeling software.
Key Responsibilities:
- 3D Modeling & Detailing: Layout mechanical and plumbing piping systems in 3D and generate spool, installation, and support drawings.
- BIM & Trade Coordination: Coordinate piping layouts with other construction trades using Navisworks to perform clash detection and resolution.
- Field & Project Support: Review project drawings/specifications, assist plumbers and project managers, perform field surveys for renovation work, and maintain up-to-date as-built drawings.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Education/Experience: Associate degree in design/drafting (or equivalent hands-on experience) with a strong understanding of commercial mechanical piping, plumbing systems, and structural steel construction.
- Software Tools: Proficiency with AutoCAD MEP, Revit, Navisworks, Trimble, Microsoft Office, and related 3D detailing software.
- Key Competencies: Excellent blueprint reading skills, strong time management, detail orientation, and the ability to manage workloads to meet tight project deadlines.
