The Elections/Voter Registration Office is committed to administering elections and all related activities for the County of Adams and its political subdivisions in compliance with the Federal and State statutes.
The County of Adams is seeking a dedicated Assistant to join this team and help ensure the integrity and efficiency of election and voter registration processes by providing guidance, processing applications, managing ballot operations, and supporting election preparation and execution.
Responsibilities:
- Answer public questions about elections and voter registration by phone.
- Process new and updated voter registrations from various sources.
- Handle mail-in and absentee ballots—applications, mailing, and processing.
- Notarize petitions and affidavits as needed.
- Operate ballot sorting equipment and verify returned ballots.
- Prepare and print election materials for polling places and poll workers.
- Update voter records in the Statewide Uniform Register of Electors (SURE).
- Assemble and distribute election supplies before and after each election.
- Assist with mass mailings for voter notifications.
- Complete other assigned duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Strong customer service skills in person and on the telephone.
2. The ability to master running machinery.
3. Above average Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel skills.
4. Strong attention to detail.
5. High School diploma or GED required.
