How You Will Make An Impact
- Execute precise quantity takeoffs for domestic water, sanitary, and storm systems to ensure bid accuracy.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and clients
- Formulate comprehensive cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment using FastPIPE software.
- Analyze project drawings and specifications to identify potential scope gaps or coordination risks early.
- Negotiate and level subcontractor and vendor quotations to maintain competitive project pricing.
- Develop value engineering options and alternate material solutions to increase project profitability.
- Coordinate smooth project handoffs by communicating critical estimate assumptions to the operations team.
- Maintain organized historical cost data to refine and improve future estimating benchmarks.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of estimating experience specifically within commercial plumbing or mechanical contracting.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proven proficiency in using industry-standard estimating software (e.g., FastPIPE) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Demonstrated analytical skills necessary to evaluate project risks and meet strict bid deadlines.
- Associate degree or technical training in a construction-related field.
- Experience estimating for healthcare, educational, municipal, or high-security federal facilities.
- Advanced knowledge of industrial plumbing systems and specialized mechanical installation methods.
