How You Will Make An Impact
- Analyze architectural drawings and project specifications to compile accurate material takeoffs.
- Calculate total projected costs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracts.
- Solicit and evaluate competitive vendor quotes to ensure optimal project cost-control.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and field operations to align estimates with actual construction capabilities.
- Prepare comprehensive, highly detailed bid proposals for commercial construction opportunities.
- Review historical cost data to continuously refine and improve estimating accuracy.
- Proven track record delivering precise cost estimates within the commercial general construction sector.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills necessary for negotiating with vendors and working with internal teams.
- Demonstrated ability to self-motivate, maintain rigorous organization, and meet strict bid deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in interpreting blue prints, structural engineering files, and contractual bid documents.
- Minimum of 5 years of related commercial construction estimating experience.
- Prior experience estimating high-stakes commercial builds tied to performance and project completion incentives.
