Evans Equipment & Environmental is a sales, service and rental company established in 1987. Our specialty is industrial water treatment systems. As our name implies, we are proponents for the environment, focusing on wastewater recycling equipment that captures, filters and recycles wash water from pressure washers or steam cleaners. We are a full-service company that designs, constructs, provides equipment, services equipment, and provides ongoing supplies for our systems.
About the Role
Evans Equipment & Environmental is looking for a detail-oriented, Construction Estimator. With a strong focus on civil construction and concrete work — if you know your way around a set of civil plans and can put together a clean, accurate bid package, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for civil and concrete projects, including flatwork, foundations, site utilities, earthwork, rental equipment, travel costs and related scopes including metal building covers
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate and competitive proposals
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Communicate clearly and professionally with project owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal team members throughout the bidding process
- Maintain organized bid files, logs, and documentation — from initial request through award
- Continuously develop your estimating skills and knowledge of civil/concrete construction methods
What We're Looking For
Skills & Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in construction estimating, takeoffs, or a related field
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering-related studies preferred
- Foundational understanding of civil construction and concrete work (coursework, internship, or hands-on field experience all count)
- Proficiency in estimating software digital takeoff tools and willingness to learn
- Knowledge of Procore and SolidWorks software a plus
- Solid math skills and attention to detail
Communication
- Clear, prompt, and professional — in writing, on the phone, and in person
- Asks the right questions and follow up without being asked
- Able to explain numbers and assumptions in plain language to people who weren't in the room when you build the estimate
Organization & Work Habits
- Maintains a highly organized filing system for documents, easy to navigate
- Manages time well to stay on top of multiple bids and provide realistic timeline expectations to the team
- Meet deadlines consistently and take ownership of work from start to finish
***Pay is dependent on experience.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
