The purpose of this position is to care for and maintain headquarters facilities and support resiliency and events to create a place where the Spirit may reside and the work of salvation and exaltation can be accomplished.
The Landscape Sweeper role serves as a team member to provide care and cleaning to world renowned landscapes, fixtures, and paths. Grounds Services with Headquarters Facilities Maintenance Department provides an environment that serves as an oasis and refuge from the storms of the world so that all who enter may feel the peace and rest offered by our Savior Jesus Christ.

- Monday - Friday: Hours may range between 6:45am-3:30pm (30 hours a week) - Church Office Building
- This is a 30-hour-a-week part-time position.
- Compensation: $16.40-$24.00 an hour depending on experience
- This position is eligible for limited medical benefits
- Please Note: This position does not qualify for students required to work on the Ensign College Campus
- Operate mechanized cleaning equipment, such as outdoor vacuums, large scrubbers and sweepers, power washers, leaf blowers etc.
- Operate aerial lifts and forklifts.
- Building exterior cleaning including fountains and landscape fixtures.
- Sanitize areas, outdoor furnishings or fixtures as instructed.
- Dispose of trash, waste, and other materials.
- Perform emergency cleanups including floods, bodily fluids, spills, etc.
- Restock and order cleaning supplies.
- Move outdoor furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment.
- Remove leaves or snow.
- On-call responsibilities are required.
- May be asked to assist/cross-train with gardening responsibilities.
- Report safety or security issues and needed repairs.
- Perform other duties and attend meetings as assigned.
- Perform self-directed work while handling complex issues and processes.
- May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to others.
- Responsible for applying safety protocols and courtesy especially regarding public interactions.
- Will be working in damp, dusty, outdoor, extreme weather, and/or dirty areas.
- Requires working with various cleaning solvents and chemicals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years general work experience.
- Must certify in the use of any equipment needed including sweepers, lifts, power washers, forklifts, etc.
- Ability to understand instructions, complete tasks, and address issues and problems individually and as a team.
- Can independently lift and position objects weighing as much as 50 pounds, as well as ability to team lift and position objects weighing as much as 100 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Able to stand, walk, kneel, squat, sit, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods of time.
- Can work from ladders and mechanical lifts for extended periods of time.
- Understands how to work with commercial-grade cleaners and chemicals.
- Ability to work professionally and positively with others and alone without constant supervision.
- Capable of understanding instructions both verbally and in writing and able to ask clarifying questions as needed.
- Comply with all regulations associated with the handling of chemicals.
- Required to work outside during all seasons, temperatures, and types of weather.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Interest and willingness to expand responsibilities to other landscape duties.
- Industrial indoor or outdoor hard surface maintenance experience.
- Ability to understand English for general communication, video training, building security, and safety.
