Controller

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead the accounting operations of our organization in Gastonia, NC. This role is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and compliance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical accounting expertise and the ability to partner with senior leadership to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
• Prepare and manage timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions
• Coordinate and manage external audits and tax filings
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high-performance team
• Partner with operations leadership to improve financial efficiency and cost management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) strongly preferred
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment
• Prior experience as an Assistant Controller or Controller
• Familiarity with multi-entity or multi-location operations
