A leading $1B private multi-entity transportation organization is seeking a Business Unit Controller to oversee accounting operations across multiple business units. This role offers high visibility, direct interaction with senior leadership, and a clear path for long‑term growth.
Role Summary
The Business Unit Controller leads all accounting and control functions, manages a multi‑location team, oversees month‑end close and consolidations, ensures financial accuracy, and supports budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes. This position also serves as the deputy to the BU CFO.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage accounting team of 7 (3 onsite / 4 offshore).
- Serve as deputy to the BU CFO, including regular interaction with executive leadership.
- Own the month‑end close, consolidations, and financial reporting across multiple entities.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial integrity.
- Oversee quarterly and year‑end audit processes (internal and external).
- Partner with operations leadership to support planning, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Coordinate annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and business plan updates.
- Prepare financial analyses and special projects as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and evolving regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance; CPA/CMA preferred
- 8–10 years progressive accounting/finance experience
- 2 years of leadership
- Strong multi‑entity consolidation experience
- Proficiency with ERP/reporting systems
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills

Salary : $140,000 - $150,000
