What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Servicing Specialist, Salina, KS position at The Bennington State Bank?
Working closely with Loan Officers, Loan Operations, and other bank personnel, the Loan Servicing Specialist identifies and resolves documentation, collateral, and insurance exceptions in a timely manner to support regulatory compliance, minimize risk, and maintain the integrity of the Bank’s loan portfolio. The position plays a key role in ensuring loan files are complete, organized, and compliant with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.
Loan Imaging & Documentation
- Scan, upload, index, and maintain loan and customer documentation within the Bank’s imaging system, ensuring records are complete, accurate, and properly organized.
- Review imaged documents for accuracy and completeness, identify missing or incorrectly filed items, and coordinate corrections as needed.
- Assist with document quality control initiatives, file maintenance, and ongoing record cleanup projects.
- Book new loans, renewals, modifications, letters of credit, and lines of credit within the core loan system.
- Process loan payments, advances, draws, and principal reductions accurately and timely.
- Track collateral perfection and continuation requirements, and process lien filings, releases, and collateral releases in accordance with Bank procedures.
- Monitor collateral insurance coverage by verifying documentation, tracking expiration dates, maintaining records, and following up on outstanding requirements.
- Maintain accurate collateral records and documentation, research discrepancies, and work with internal staff and third parties to resolve exceptions.
- Identify and recommend improvements to loan documentation, imaging, collateral tracking, and servicing processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide support for additional Loan Operations functions and special projects as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and responsibilities, prioritize competing demands, meet established deadlines, and ensure time-sensitive matters are addressed promptly and accurately.
- Ability to learn bank operation systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional education, banking experience, or related financial services experience preferred.
