Summary
The Ash Group is hiring a new Test Automation Engineer Sr for our client (a global technology distributor connecting leading manufacturers of electronic components and computing solutions) based in Richardson, TX.
This senior role requires 8 years of specialized experience in embedded systems testing. You will be responsible for leading automation efforts, designing comprehensive test plans, and driving quality improvements for critical electronic components and computing solutions.
Role Details
- Compensation: Competitive pay rate of $46 per hour.
- Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and direct primary care benefits. After six months of employment, enjoy a 4% matched 401(k) plan with immediate 100% vesting.
- Duration: 12-month contract with potential for extension and/or conversion.
- Location: Onsite in Richardson, TX.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for embedded software, hardware components, and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
- Drive the adoption and maintenance of automated testing frameworks, leveraging Python and tools like GTest or Pytest to maximize coverage and efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analysis of defects and collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, hardware) to ensure timely resolution and process optimization.
- Utilize expertise in C, C , and Linux OS environments for developing and debugging tests for embedded systems.
- Maintain test documentation and actively participate in all Agile and CI/CD ceremonies, advocating for testing best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- 8 years of relevant experience in embedded systems development and testing (hardware and software).
- Strong programming expertise in C and C , coupled with hands-on experience in RTOS.
- Proven proficiency with Python automation frameworks and Linux OS tools for testing.
- Solid understanding of hardware interfaces and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and processes, along with strong debugging and analytical problem-solving skills.
