Summary
The Ash Group is hiring a Network Engineer for our client (a world-renowned telecommunications company providing the technology and equipment that enables global mobile connectivity and 4G/5G networks).
This is an Onsite 12–18 month contract role based in Plano, TX, offering a competitive pay rate of $59.00 per hour. This senior-level role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in radio network design, implementation, and optimization, with extensive leadership experience in large-scale 4G LTE/5G NR projects across multi-vendor environments.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the technical activities for large-scale radio network design, tuning, and optimization projects, demonstrating excellence in customer communication and technical oversight.
- Utilize extensive experience in planning tools such as Planet EV and Atoll for detailed link budget calculations, project creation, tilt/azimuth optimization, and proposing new site locations.
- Perform detailed LTE/5G optimization, including event analysis, addressing accessibility/retainability/HO success rate issues, and making parameter changes based on drive test data.
- Apply detailed knowledge of Layer 3 messaging for both 4G and 5G to collect, analyze drive data (using tools like TEMS, Actix), and solve complex performance issues.
- Implement and experiment on RAN features relative to traffic analysis and understanding the relationship between handovers and network capacity.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum ten (10) years’ experience with BSEE/BSCS or applicable experience in radio network design, implementation, and/or optimization systems.
- Leadership experience required for five or more projects, with at least two projects as the technical leader in a large-scale geographic area.
- Extensive experience working with 5G NR (Massive MIMO, mmWave), 4G LTE, and multi-vendor technologies.
- Detailed understanding of planning tools (Planet EV, Atoll), optimization tools (TEMS, Actix), link budgets, and KPIs.
- Ability to collect and analyze drive data and performance statistics, solving complex issues related to accessibility, retainability, and handover success rate.
- Detailed understanding of Layer 3 messaging and the impact of adding new carriers or performing IRAT procedures.
