This is a 12-month contract position working in Plano, TX (Onsite). We are offering a pay rate up to $59 per hour W2 based on skill set.

Mechanical Engineer III responsible for designing heavy structural modifications for aerospace platforms, utilizing CAD and simulation tools. Works on the modernization of a polar mission capability for an LC130H airframe. Contributes to the full product lifecycle from concept to certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Research advanced mechanical solutions for aerospace missions
- Design heavy structural modifications for LC130H airframe
- Develop CAD models using SolidWorks/Catia
- Simulate structural performance with FEA and CFD
- Interpret and apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams
- Document design decisions and technical reports
- Support certification and testing activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Must have 5-10 years as a Mechanical Engineer
- Must have heavy structural mods, Solidworks/Catia, and must have CAD experience.
- Must have aerospace experience
- Familiarity working in multidisciplinary design and development teams
- Aerospace design experience on airframe structures
- Strong understanding of overarching structural design
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of applying and interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5
- Experience in engineering simulation such as FEA, CFD, and thermal analysis
- Background in aerospace and defense
- Industry knowledge of mechanical design principles, including parametric design, model-based definition, material selection, manufacturing, and production processes
