Full-time employment with The Arc of Greater Boone County includes the following BENEFITS:

- Must be at least 18 years old

WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor
The Peer Counselor is a part-time position working 15 hours per week. The Arc is looking to hire 2 Peer Counselors, one for the Boone County WIC office and one for the Hendricks County WIC office. The Peer Counselor has to of breastfed at least one infant for at least six months within the last 5 years and be a current or previous WIC client.
- Support and promote breastfeeding as the normative infant feeding method.
- Counsel clients with basic breastfeeding education and support, including anticipatory guidance and addressing common barriers to breastfeeding.
- Refer clients to appropriate WIC staff and healthcare providers as needed for further assessment.
- Help clients prevent and handle common breastfeeding problems.
- Complete required documentation in the INWIC management system.
