The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for Full-Time Supervisory General Engineer/Supervisory Physical Scientist, (NH-0801/1301-04) to work at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex (WR-ALC) at Robins AFB in Warner Robins, Georgia. 2026 Salary Range: $125,776 - $192,331 (yearly w/ locality)

The primary purpose of this position is to exercise 2nd level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Installation Laboratory Production Flight. Responsible for performing scientific and/or professional engineering and management work in support of projects/programs pertaining to the 802 MXSS. Provides scientific and engineering skills and instrumentation to analyze and test chemicals, materials, wastes and components produced or used in weapons systems management and maintenance. Performs scientific and engineering analysis and test of materials and components provided by external and internal customers. Provides first article testing, dimensional measurement, mechanical testing, failure analysis and specialized engineering tests concerning mechanical stresses, electrical and environmental factors for the complex. Exercises 2nd level (or higher) technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more during duty time. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the unit. Serves as a consultant and expert in engineering and/or chemical analysis work involved in the application of advanced theories, concepts, and principles related to development or sustainment of systems. Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

Requirements:

- Obtain & maintain a security clearance


- May be required to travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft

- An engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an institution with an ABET accredited program in Engineering, physical science degree, or a closely related field is highly required.

- This position may be designated as an acquisition position covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

1. Knowledge of a wide range of advanced multidisciplinary professional engineering/scientific concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, equipment and of system engineering and efforts required to achieve and preserve operational safety, suitability and effectiveness (OSS&E) in systems or end-items. Knowledge of the environmental and industrial health hazards posed by a laboratory environment.

2. Skill in communicating clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies and to prepare professional level engineering and scientific documents and delivering General Officer (executive) level information and decision briefs.

3. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships, building consensus and coalitions, negotiating, and resolving conflicts with a variety of individuals and organizations as well as communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.

4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of an organization, and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff through subordinate supervisors as well as analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
