The Tax Manager will oversee complex tax engagements, deliver proactive tax planning strategies, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients while mentoring staff and supporting the continued growth of the firm’s tax practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and review complex federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals
- Lead tax planning and consulting engagements to identify strategic tax-saving opportunities
- Research and interpret evolving tax laws, regulations, and guidance
- Provide proactive advisory services related to entity structuring, transactions, and compliance matters
- Supervise, mentor, and review work prepared by senior and staff accountants
- Serve as a primary client contact for tax planning discussions and compliance matters
- Assist clients with IRS and state audit support, notices, and resolution efforts
- Identify opportunities to expand advisory services within existing client relationships
- Manage multiple client engagements while maintaining high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and client service
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of public accounting experience with a focus on tax
- Strong experience reviewing complex business and individual tax returns
- Demonstrated expertise in tax planning and advisory services
- CPA license required
- Experience supervising and developing tax professionals
- Strong technical research and analytical skills
- Excellent client communication and relationship management abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; Master’s in Taxation preferred
