Toxic Tort Associate Attorney
A nationally recognized litigation firm is seeking Associate Attorneys with 2 years of defense litigation experience to join its expanding California practice. This opportunity is available within the firm’s General Liability and Toxic Tort Litigation groups. The firm is known for handling complex civil litigation matters nationwide and offers attorneys the opportunity to work on sophisticated cases alongside experienced litigators in a collaborative, team-driven environment.
The firm represents clients across a broad range of industries in matters involving toxic tort, product liability, environmental claims, general liability, and other complex litigation matters. Attorneys are given meaningful responsibility, strong mentorship, and the opportunity to develop litigation and trial skills while working on high-exposure matters.
Key Responsibilities
• Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution
• Handle local and national accounts throughout California
• Conduct and defend depositions, including plaintiff and expert depositions
• Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial
• Draft and respond to discovery requests, pleadings, and motions
• Review and analyze case documents, discovery materials, and legal issues
• Assist with trial preparation and provide trial support as needed
• Maintain organized and accurate billing and time records
• Collaborate with attorneys and clients on litigation strategy and case management
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years of defense litigation experience
• Experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: general liability, product liability, toxic tort, environmental liability, or complex litigation
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Active admission to practice law in California
• Experience with motion practice and depositions
• Ability to independently manage cases and deadlines
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced litigation environment
