Job Overview

A nationally recognized Am Law firm is expanding its Commercial Litigation practice and seeks an accomplished litigation attorney to manage complex business disputes from inception through trial and resolution. The practice represents corporations, financial institutions, and commercial clients in sophisticated state and federal litigation involving high-value business disputes.

Duties

Manage all phases of complex commercial litigation from initial strategy through final resolution.

Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with partners and clients.

Draft and argue substantive motions, briefs, and other court filings in state and federal courts.

Conduct and defend depositions involving fact and expert witnesses.

Manage all aspects of written discovery, including document review, production, and eDiscovery coordination.

Prepare pleadings, motions, memoranda, and trial materials with minimal supervision.

Provide practical, business-focused legal advice to corporate clients.

Coordinate with litigation support professionals and outside experts.

Mentor, supervise, and train junior associates throughout the litigation process.

Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, trial, and settlement negotiations.

Conduct sophisticated legal research and analysis supporting complex litigation matters.

Maintain strong client relationships while effectively managing multiple active cases.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 years of commercial litigation experience.

Experience practicing in a law firm environment preferred.

Active admission to the California Bar or ability to obtain admission promptly.

Extensive experience with motion practice, discovery, depositions, and case management.

Strong courtroom advocacy and litigation strategy skills.

Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.

Ability to independently manage sophisticated litigation matters.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications
