Medical Collector – Behavioral Health | Fully Remote (Arizona Residents Only)
Are you experienced in medical claims denials and looking for a fully remote role with a mission-driven behavioral health organization? We are seeking a skilled Medical Collector to join our growing team and support accurate reimbursement for vital behavioral health services across Arizona.
In this role, you’ll manage claim denials, follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims, submit corrections and appeals, and collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure timely resolution. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is confident navigating payer guidelines and reimbursement workflows.
Key Responsibilities
• Utilize system tools, payer guidelines, and SOPs to manage assigned denial inventory
• Review and analyze payer responses to determine proper adjudication
• Accurately resolve payer denials within timely filing requirements
• Address discrepancies, denials, rejections, and credit balances
• Resubmit voided or corrected claims after reviewing and validating claim data
• Ensure accuracy and compliance to optimize reimbursement
• Prepare, submit, and track payer reconsiderations and appeals
• Partner with internal departments to obtain information needed to resolve rejections, recoupments, underpayments, or denials
• Meet all month-end deadlines and productivity expectations
Education & Experience Required
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred
• 1–2 years of experience working medical claim denials
• 1–2 years of experience in healthcare reimbursement, behavioral health billing, or related fields
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers required
• Experience with behavioral health claims strongly preferred
• Remote work experience preferred
