Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental goals, policies, and standards in alignment with hospital and system objectives.
- Provide overall direction and oversight for Women's & Children's Services, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Maintain compliance with ACOG, AWHONN, AAP, Joint Commission, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Integrate evidence-based nursing practices into clinical protocols and workflows.
- Monitor quality metrics, patient outcomes, and satisfaction data; lead performance improvement initiatives.
- Support internal and external audits and implement corrective action plans as needed.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, mentor, and retain nursing and support staff.
- Oversee staff education, competencies, certifications, and professional development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and address corrective actions in accordance with policy.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.
- Prepare, manage, and monitor departmental budgets and resources.
- Ensure responsible fiscal management and alignment with organizational financial goals.
- Participate in strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospital leadership to enhance care coordination and service delivery.
- Promote effective communication across multidisciplinary teams to support patient-centered care.
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current West Virginia RN license or eligibility for licensure
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP required (or obtained within designated timeframe)
- 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in Women's and Children's Health
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex clinical operations
- Experience with budgeting, financial management, and performance improvement initiatives in acute care settings
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to analyze data and drive quality and operational improvements
