Heres What Youll Be Doing
Prepare advanced TCEQ or TPDES oil and gas, wastewater draft individual or general permits and/ or authorizations in accordance with state and federal rules, policies, and guidelines for all application types. Review and approve highly complex to advanced wastewater reuse system applications. Perform engineering calculations and analysis during permit application review.
Communicate information concerning permits, permitting process, and engineering to agency staff, the public, and the regulated community; attend meetings, and responds to telephone calls and letters received.
Assist the team leader in providing technical expertise, direction, leadership, and mentoring for the oil and gas wastewater permitting program staff.
Lead, perform, or participate in advanced and politically sensitive special projects, including training other division staff.
Qualifications: REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications Texas Professional Engineer's license plus four years of full-time engineering experience beyond licensure. Qualifying work experience includes that obtained post licensure as an engineering graduate student or teacher.
OR
Career Ladder Progression One year of full-time experience at TCEQ as an Engineer IV.
Key Qualifications
Experience conducting technical reviews for environmental proposals (reviewing or preparing draft environmental permits, preparing permit applications, or reviewing other proposals related to the air, water, or waste programs, etc.).
Experience reviewing or interpreting federal or state environmental regulations for environmental programs.
Experience with water or wastewater analysis (analytical techniques) or lab technical sampling procedures.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Engineer V state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Engineer V series.
Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Water Quality Division.
