See details about what we do.This position is a member of the Air Section within the Enforcement Division.HEREand#8217;S WHAT YOUand#8217;LL BE DOINGDirect, track, and coordinate team activities to assure appropriate enforcement case development. Oversee the screening of referrals, preparation of accurate and complete draft orders, compliance agreements, and direct referrals to the Litigation Division by the Enforcement Coordinators (ECs) on the team. Monitor the case settlement process with the ECs. Assign enforcement action referrals (EARs) to ECs in coordination with the Section Manager.
Oversee the mentoring of less experienced technical staff related to performing enforcement functions. Coordinate with other divisions and external entities regarding program activities; and represent the agency at meetings, hearing, trials, conferences, and/or seminars related to enforcement issues.
Monitor team performance and complete personnel management functions, which includes interviewing, hiring, and developing staff, performance management, etc.
Participate in special projects including rule or guidance development and coordinate with the Section Manager on the development of guidelines, procedures, and policies involving enforcement; and provide consultative services, outreach, and technical assistance to agency staff, government officials, the general public, regulated community, and media.KEY QUALIFICATIONSExperience determining compliance with environmental rules, statutes, and/or policies.
Experience overseeing staff.
Experience in mentoring.
Experience in reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications: REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCEExperience in the administration of a program relevant to assignment.ORGraduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment. Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.TRANSCRIPT/ COLLEGE HOURS or COURSE WORK:See instructionson how to attach documents.
