What are the responsibilities and job description for the Java Backend Developer (SQL-Focused) position at Tenth Revolution Group?
We are looking for a hands-on Java Backend Developer to support a stable, enterprise-scale application environment within a structured delivery team.
This is a highly process-driven, detail-oriented development role focused on maintaining, enhancing, and extracting data from complex backend systems. The work is repeatable and precision-based, and suits someone who enjoys working in a consistent engineering environment rather than fast-moving product innovation or architecture design.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing and maintaining Java Spring Boot backend services
- Writing and optimising SQL queries for data extraction, reporting, and validation
- Supporting existing enterprise systems (enhancements, fixes, and small feature changes)
- Working within structured workflows and production support cycles
- Troubleshooting data issues across backend services and databases
- Ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of system outputs
What we’re looking for
- Strong Java backend development experience (Spring Boot preferred)
- Confident, hands-on ability with SQL (complex queries, joins, data extraction)
- Experience working with existing enterprise systems (not greenfield architecture)
- Comfortable with repetitive, structured development work
- Strong attention to detail and production stability mindset
- Ability to work onsite in Plano 3 days per week
Must-have requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related field (required)
- 3–7 years Java development experience
- Solid SQL experience in production environments
Nice to have
- Spring Boot microservices exposure
- Experience in financial services, telecom, or enterprise regulated environments
- Production support or incident troubleshooting experience
This is not a software engineering/design authority role. It is a hands-on Java development position focused on maintaining and improving existing systems with strong SQL/data interaction work.
We’re looking for developers who value stability, precision, and consistency in their work.
