Introduction
Our client is a privately owned hospital primarily focused on urgent care and is seeking an Associate Veterinarian who will see urgent care patients alongside full wellness responsibilities. The hospital treats dogs and cats, with the opportunity to see pocket pets for a veterinarian who has an interest in exotics, as there is growing client demand in this area. This role is ideal for an experienced DVM looking to combine urgent care and wellness responsibilities within a supportive and growing setting.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday to Thursday from 2pm – 10pm, Friday from 10am – 10pm, Saturday from 11am – 7pm, and Sunday from 11am – 7pm. The ideal schedule for this full-time position would consist of three weekdays with either Saturday or Sunday. Specific doctor hours are open to discussion and there is flexibility around scheduling.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This position includes urgent care responsibilities alongside full wellness duties. The hospital acts as a bridge between regular daytime veterinarians and emergency hospitals, focusing on non-emergent cases to ensure pets are treated promptly and can return home as quickly as possible. Responsibilities include managing urgent care cases, non-emergent illnesses and injuries, and providing comprehensive wellness services. The hospital is seeking experienced DVMs who are enthusiastic about sharing ideas and stepping into a leadership-style role within the team, contributing to the hospital’s continued growth and development.
Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with digital X-ray, flash ultrasound, and comprehensive laboratory services including in-house blood work and specialized laboratory testing in collaboration with IDEXX labs. Pet pharmacy services are available both in-house and online, with access to a compounding pharmacy. The facility offers a full suite of in-house diagnostic capabilities and features four exam rooms. The hospital operates with a fully automated, cloud-based, 100% paperless health record system using EzyVet. The lead doctor is Fear Free certified and is currently discussing AAHA certification as well as working toward hospital-wide Fear Free certification. Services include walk-in and same-day veterinary care for non-emergent illnesses and injuries in dogs and cats, as well as last-minute wellness and vaccination needs. The hospital provides evening and weekend veterinary services, and no appointments are necessary.
