We are partnering with a well-established organization to identify an experienced Senior Accountant to join its team on a temporary / contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and taking ownership of complex accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting expertise, experience supporting month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, audit coordination, and the ability to mentor junior accounting staff while contributing to process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced accounting, financial analysis, and budgeting activities to support organizational goals.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review budget adjustments, transfers, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Analyze revenues, expenditures, and financial trends to provide recommendations to leadership.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Coordinate annual financial audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
- Prepare compliance reports, regulatory filings, financial questionnaires, and other required documentation.
- Maintain records related to long-term financial obligations and monitor compliance with applicable agreements.
- Review payroll-related financial information and reconciliations for accuracy.
- Reconcile corporate purchasing card activity and other assigned balance sheet accounts.
- Research accounting standards, regulatory changes, and best practices, recommending improvements to financial policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to accounting staff while reviewing work for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with special projects and perform additional accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Five or more years of progressive professional accounting experience.
- Previous experience leading projects or providing guidance to accounting staff.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
- Experience supporting external audits and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly.
Salary : $40 - $45
