Job Description:
Opening for a full-time Maintenance Technician with a well-established company in Mars Hill. Full-Time/Nights: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM. $21.50/hr. $2.00/hr. night shift differential.
The Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance and repairs on the facility’s production line machinery to ensure smooth, continuous operation in a food production environment. Responsibilities include diagnosing equipment issues, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, replacing defective parts, and conducting preventive maintenance to reduce downtime. Employee will also assist with equipment installations, routine inspections, and sanitation-related maintenance. Ideal candidate will have prior factory maintenance experience, working knowledge of welding and fabrication tools, and a strong commitment to workplace safety and sanitation.

Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and upkeep on production equipment and mechanical systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, including inspections, lubrication, equipment calibrations, and part replacements.
- Troubleshoot PLC, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Repair damaged machinery, plumbing, and electrical components, including installing and threading pipe, welding, soldering, and cutting.
- Assist with the setup, installation, calibration, and testing of new equipment.
- Clean and lubricate machinery as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain a sanitary working environment in compliance with food safety standards (e.g., sanitation procedures, contamination prevention, clean-in-place requirements).
- Respond to call-in requests to perform emergency repairs during off-hours.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE protocols, and hazard reporting.
- Participate in HazMat, Confined Space, and LOTO trainings as required.
- Accurately log maintenance activities and communicate equipment issues to supervisors.
- Report potential safety hazards to the appropriate parties in a timely manner.
- Perform other tasks as requested by the site supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced training or education in machinery repair highly valued.
- Three or more years of professional experience as a machinery or maintenance technician.
- Previous experience with welding or parts fabrication.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
