Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join a custom wood door and millwork manufacturing team. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for advanced 5-axis and 4-axis CNC machinery.
The ideal candidate will have strong CNC programming experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work with CAD/CAM software to support efficient and accurate manufacturing operations. Experience programming for wood is not required; candidates with CNC programming experience in other manufacturing environments are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for 4-axis and 5-axis CNC machines.
- Develop efficient machining strategies to improve production quality, accuracy, and cycle times.
- Utilize Autodesk Inventor and Inventor HSM CAM to create and modify CNC programs.
- Review CAD models, drawings, and manufacturing requirements to determine appropriate machining processes.
- Troubleshoot CNC programming and machining issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production and manufacturing teams to ensure programs meet quality and production requirements.
- Make program adjustments based on machine performance, tooling, material, and production feedback.
- Maintain accurate documentation and organization of CNC programs and related manufacturing files.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to CNC machining processes and productivity.
- Follow established safety, quality, and production procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in CNC programming is required.
- Experience with 4-axis and/or 5-axis CNC machining.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software; experience with Autodesk Inventor and Inventor HSM is preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and manufacturing specifications.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, feeds, speeds, and CNC operations.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a manufacturing team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with custom manufacturing, millwork, cabinetry, doors, or similar industries.
- Experience with HolzHer, Northwood, or comparable CNC equipment.
- Experience with 5-axis machining and complex part programming.
- Knowledge of manufacturing process optimization and continuous improvement.
