Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Robotics & Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in industrial robot programming, robotic welding/automation, workcell integration, simulation, and manufacturing support.
The ideal candidate will have experience programming Yaskawa/Motoman robots, performing online programming and robot simulation, integrating vision and safety systems, troubleshooting automated equipment, and optimizing robotic workcells for production.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, integrate, troubleshoot, and optimize 6-axis industrial robots in manufacturing environments.
- Perform online robot programming and develop complex robot logic and motion profiles.
- Design and support automated robotic workcells, tooling, and End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT).
- Perform robot reachability, payload, center-of-gravity, joint torque, and motion analysis.
- Develop and validate robotic applications using MotoSim or similar robot simulation software.
- Support robotic welding and automated manufacturing processes, including welding parameters and process optimization.
- Integrate industrial vision systems such as Cognex and Keyence.
- Troubleshoot robot, automation, tooling, controls, and production issues.
- Support equipment commissioning, validation, startup, and production implementation.
- Perform risk assessments and robotic safety analysis in accordance with ANSI/RIA R15.06 and ISO 10218.
- Support integration of safety PLCs, light curtains, interlocks, and other machine safety systems.
- Improve cycle time, robot motion, equipment efficiency, quality, and machine uptime.
- Develop technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, training materials, and equipment procedures.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, manufacturing, and welding engineering teams.
- Support new product development and implementation of new robotic automation applications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Automation, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Strong hands-on experience programming 6-axis industrial robots.
- Experience with Yaskawa/Motoman robot programming.
- Experience with online robot programming in a live manufacturing environment.
- Experience with MotoSim or comparable robotic simulation software.
- Experience with robotic automation, workcell integration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with industrial vision systems such as Cognex or Keyence.
- Knowledge of robotic safety standards including ANSI/RIA R15.06 and ISO 10218.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and implementing robotic safety systems.
- Strong understanding of automation equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Robotic welding experience.
- Welding process development and welding automation.
- Knowledge of AWS welding standards.
- FANUC, ABB, KUKA, or other industrial robot experience.
- EOAT and automation cell design.
- GD&T / ASME Y14.5.
- Waterjet cutting applications.
- Safety PLC experience.
- Robot reachability and payload analysis.
- Experience with cycle-time optimization and production improvement.
