Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced ABB Robotic Engineer to support robotic applications across engine assembly, testing, and paint operations. The engineer will program, troubleshoot, optimize, and commission ABB robots while partnering with Controls, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program and troubleshoot ABB robots using RobotStudio.
- Diagnose robot, tooling, controls, cabling, and production-cell issues.
- Optimize robot programs, cycle time, reliability, safety, and OEE.
- Integrate robots with PLCs, sensors, vision systems, conveyors, and tooling.
- Support equipment commissioning, validation, startup, and production downtime.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Optimize robot configuration, including harnesses, cabling, and end-of-arm tooling.
- Collaborate with PLC/Controls engineers to resolve automation issues.
- Develop operating procedures, standard work, and training documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–15 years of robotics or manufacturing automation experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with ABB robot programming, RobotStudio, and troubleshooting.
- Experience integrating ABB robots with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent PLCs.
- Experience with robotic assembly, material handling, arc welding, machine tending, testing, or paint applications.
- Ability to provide onsite shop-floor and shift-based production support.
Preferred:
- Vision-guided robotics and automated inspection experience.
- High-volume automotive, engine, or heavy-equipment manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of industrial networks, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
